UCLA nurse-midwives offer prenatal care, delivery and postpartum care, as well as breast-feeding consultation. Nurse-midwives focus on meeting patients' needs for physical care, emotional and social support, and health education throughout pregnancy, delivery, and the postpartum period. Women can expect the same level of safety with nurse-midwives as they do with physicians.

The UCLA Nurse Midwives will soon be on the move!
As of Tuesday, May 1, 2018 the UCLA Nurse Midwives will be located at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica. We are excited to expand our program, including clinic and prenatal services, at The BirthPlace Santa Monica where we will have more rooms and space to care for you during labor and birth. We anticipate being able to share additional details with you very soon.
The UCLA nurse-midwives hold graduate degrees in nursing and have been certified through examination by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. They work in consultation with physicians from UCLA's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. All births are planned for the birthing suites at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood. Analgesia and anesthesia options are available to all clients if desired. Many insurance plans cover certified nurse-midwifery care.

"My husband and I have a tiny daughter named Eleanor. We were all fortunate enough to begin this journey on the best possible note, in the extraordinary hands (both literally and figuratively) of the UCLA midwives."
